CPR -21 March
Since 2008, local area coordinators (LACs) have been conducting CPR Awareness Training sessions, within their communities, throughout Qld. This program has been endorsed by the Qld Ambulance Service, as the benefit of effective bystander CPR is well known.
In an emergency every second counts.
With a $7 donation paid prior to attending the course (which covers the cost of the Handy Hints book, which you get to take home), members of U3A Redlands can learn the life-saving steps of CPR, through these Awareness Sessions. 76% of cardiac arrests occur at home and the most likely witness is a spouse or family member.
The Cleveland LAC members have been undertaking these CPR Awareness sessions throughout the Redlands, since the beginning of 2010. 100s of Redlanders have been shown the theory of CPR, as well as undertaken compressions on training manikins, to hopefully make a real difference to help save someone’s life.
This year two sessions will be held, the first one on Tuesday 27 February and the second one Thursday 21 st March. Please note – only one class required to achieve CPR competency.
